Main difference between Indian Marble and Italian Marble
Writen by Romeo.
Firstly it is the cost. Since Indian marble is mined locally it is obviously cheaper in India. Italian marble is imported and hence we pay more taxes which is why it is costlier. Now here is my question to you.
Lets say , if both were priced equally what would you pick? The answer there is so simple, isn’t it. You would go for Italian simply because it is more beautiful. And why is it so pretty, you may ask.
The answer lies deep beneath the earth when these marbles were formed. Most of the Italian marble in Bangalore and other parts of India come from Jurassic era which is roughly about 150-200 million years ago where as the Indian marble is much newer. So the consistency of patterns and veins in the same block differs when it comes to Indian marble which is why its priced lower.
One exception here is Makrana white marble and that is the reason it is in huge demand even in the international markets and if you have noticed it is very costly as well. It is a well known fact that the greatest monument of love, “The Taj Mahal” was built with Makrana.
